1. Who We Are

Shopclr (“Shopclr,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a financial clarity and seller protection tool operated by TMF Financial Consulting, LLC, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. We help Etsy and Shopify sellers understand their true net margin, monitor account health, and protect their business.

2. What Data We Collect

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials via Clerk (our identity provider).

Platform data (Etsy): When you connect your Etsy shop, we request read-only access to your transaction history, order data, listing data, and shop metrics via the Etsy Open API v3. We never request write access and never modify your listings, orders, or buyer communications.

Platform data (Shopify): When you connect your Shopify store, we request read-only access to your orders, product data, and analytics via the Shopify Admin API. We never modify your store data.

Usage data: We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used solely for security and performance monitoring.

Payment data: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status only.

Your customers' data: When you connect Etsy or Shopify, the order data we read includes information about your buyers (such as their name and email address, where the platform provides it). For this buyer data, Shopclr acts as a data processor on your behalf, you remain the data controller for your own customers, and you are responsible for ensuring your use of Shopclr complies with your obligations to your buyers, including Etsy's and Shopify's own rules on buyer data use. We never use your buyers' data for our own purposes, and a buyer's email is only ever sent to a third-party marketing tool (see Section 4) if that specific buyer opted into marketing communications at Shopify checkout.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect exclusively to provide the Shopclr service:

• Calculate your true net margin after platform fees
• Track account health metrics (Star Seller status, chargeback rates, etc.)
• Build a unified buyer contact list from opted-in customers
• Generate AI-drafted suspension appeal letters on your request
• Provide cross-platform revenue analytics
• Send transactional emails (receipts, alerts, account notifications)

We do not: sell your data, share it with advertisers, use it for our own marketing analytics, or train AI models on your business data.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the service providers necessary to operate Shopclr:

• Supabase: database hosting (PostgreSQL), US-based servers
• Vercel: application hosting and edge delivery
• Clerk: user authentication and identity management
• Stripe: payment processing and subscription management
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-generated appeal letters (only the specific listing/case data you submit for a draft)
• Klaviyo: only if you connect it from Settings, to sync the buyer contacts who opted into marketing communications at Shopify checkout. Etsy buyers are never sent to Klaviyo.
• Mailchimp: same as Klaviyo above, only if you connect it from Settings.

All subprocessors are bound by data processing agreements. We do not share your Etsy or Shopify order data with any third party beyond what is required to display it back to you.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase in the US East region. All tables have Row Level Security (RLS) enabled; your data is only accessible to your authenticated account. Data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.2+. OAuth and API tokens for Etsy, Shopify, Klaviyo, and Mailchimp are stored encrypted at the application level.

We conduct regular security reviews and apply security patches promptly. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and platform data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days and your order/transaction data within 90 days. Anonymized, aggregated statistics (e.g., average fee rates across all sellers) may be retained indefinitely as they contain no personally identifiable information.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability: export your buyer list and order data as CSV at any time from the dashboard
• Disconnect: revoke Etsy or Shopify access at any time from account settings; we will stop syncing immediately and delete the OAuth token

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (managed by Clerk) and session management. We also set short-lived, essential cookies while you connect Etsy, Shopify, or Mailchimp, to securely complete the OAuth authorization step; these expire automatically within minutes and contain no tracking data. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Shopclr is a business tool intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Shopclr after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
